Thoughts about the new "Discrete" doggy bags. I have taken my fur baby(Ies) everywhere for years now. I had a juicy bag with mesh on either end. But lately I have seen several really gorgeous bags ( Ce ce Kent, Jaraden etc) that are designed with privacy panels that come down over the mesh so people can't see in. My husband REALLY loves the jaraden cambridge style and wants one for his birthday in March so he can take one of the babies with him. He likes it because it's masculine. But us anyone else concerned that the privacy panels can stop proper circulation? I think all the jaraden bags are gorgeous- but the privacy panels do concern me. ** if you want to see a demonstration of what I am talking about g t youtube and type in Jaraden cambridge** There are videos that highlight the features of the various bag styles. JCLA has some really nice ones too, but they look like purses, which my husband hates. what do you all think? Anyone HAVE a jaraden bag( or similar bag) with privacy panels? If so I'd love to hear if your baby is comfortable in it. |
Well first- I went to their website and I see they are no longer making any pet purses, so that means you are buying left over stock. I wonder why they no longer make pet products. I don't think I would feel comfortable without any mesh anywhere? Hmmm. I am dying to see a pic of your babies together btw :) |
Please do not use these bags to sneak your pets places. It causes problems for people with service dogs who depend on them to live. If you're just wanting to give your pup a bit of time away from prying eyes I wouldn't worry about the panels. Just check on them occasionally to make sure it's not too hot in there when the panels are down and keep it out of sun. |
I have used a few different bags with the privacy panels. I check on Wendell now and then, and he has never seemed over heated in any of them. The flap isn't a tight seal, there is still plenty of space for air to get in. The bags that I have are; a Vera Bradley Pet Carrier, one made by a company called Doggy Dollie that I got on Amazon.com, and the third one is a Kwigy-Bo Alexa. I realize that these look enough like purses that a man wouldn't be comfortable carrying them, but they all have privacy panels and zip completely closed on top. So the overall design is similar to the one you are looking at. Wendell is 7 lbs. and he loves all of the bags. He gets all excited when I even go into the guest room because he knows that his travel bags are in the closet in that room. |
