Raw Bones I was wondering if I can give my dogs raw bone marrow bones. I saw some at the grocery store and was thinking of buying them. Do I need to cook them or can I give it to them directly? I previously gave them frozen bones from Primal and they seemed to enjoy it. |
Never cooked bones!! And for more info you may want to check out: www.akc.org/learn/dog.../dog-eat-steak-bones/ |
Hard bones like marrow bones can easily crack teeth. |
Yes, you can definitely give them raw bones - they're great for cleaning teeth and great for exercising the jaw as well. Marrow bones are fine, but my fave RMBs (raw meaty bones) are the Bison Back / Rib bones from Whole Foods. You can find them at times in the frozen pet freezer - I have the butcher cut each rib bones in half or in thirds so that they're yorkie size. They're awesome! |
