Hi and welcome to YT :)! |
hello and welcome :) |
Welcome to YT! How exciting that you will be getting a puppy next month! |
Welcome |
Welcome!! Cant wait to see pics of your new baby. I know you are so ready for March to be here!! |
Welcome...we would love to some pics of your new furbaby when he joins your family. Rose is a beautiful name. I am far from an expert but I have seen many knowledgeable people on this board state that the puppy should be with the mom until at least 12 weeks. If my math is correct she will be joining you at barely 8 weeks old. Make sure you are prepared for any problems that may occur with a puppy that young. Hopefully there are other people here who can you advice on that. Good luck! |
Welcome to you and Rose, would love to see some pic's when you get her. |

i had thought this myself maxdog (although i mistakenly thought it was 10 weeks, is it to do with the mother teaching them appropriate behaviour??) She is from a litter of 5 & all will be rehomed at the same time so i figured i'd give this girl the best i can, i've already arranged for her to go to puppy parties & training classes when she's here so hopefully we won't have any long lasting behavioral issues. This forum has been a godsend for help & advice & i cant wait to get some pics up, thankyou again :):p |
It is more about the problems that pups this small can have than the extra time to grow behavior and socialization wise. Be sure to have Nutrical on hand and watch the pup closely at all times. Also, in your original post you mention that you have a 5 year old. I pray that you will be extremely cautious when you let a puppy that is going to be a couple of pounds at best interact with a 5 year old. Their coordination and motor skills are not complete enough yet and they could hurt or even kill a small puppy without meaning to. |
