Sleeping time Has anyone tried to get their puppy to go to sleep when you do? Daisy tends to keep me up till 11/1130 at night and thats late for me. I try to go to bed with my husband around 10 (since he has to get up at 430). She just cries and cries in her cage and I can't stay in the room since it breaks my heart. My husband can fall asleep instantly with Daisy crying. I guess thats what happens when you're a light sleeper. My husband wants me to stop staying in the living room with her until she's tired because she has to learn. Which I get, but I feel that she just so little I feel bad when she cries :( Eventually I will be moving her our of my room and into her own little space once she gets older. Since she still is a baby I'm nervous if I don't hear her. I've tried tiring her out but once she's moved into her cage she's all of a sudden wide awake :( Any one have any suggestions? or am I just going to have to let her cry it out until she gets used to the routine? |
If she hates her crate this much - personally I wouldn't use one. All of my pups *hated* the crate, so it did not feel correct to confine them in this manner. Instead I used the Iris Pen (amazon or walmart) and they were WAY happier with that. Have you tried moving her crate into your bedroom? |
I don't think she hates her crate because she does take naps in there, she goes in there whenever she wants. I am looking into those pens for her to see how she is during the day with them and then slowly start putting her there at night as well. Her crate is in the living room through out the day because she naps in there and then at night I bring the crate in the bedroom. I think the iris pen would be more beneficial this way she has a lot more room to roam around when she's not tired. |

That could be in cause she will cuddle up next to me. I'm going to have to try the aromatherapy balm. She has three toys that are around her size already. Heating pad I never though! Definitely going to try these ideas! Thank you so muchh |
Perhaps leaving one of your clothing with her? So she can smell your scent. |
She has two shirts lol my husband and mine! she's has gotten better. She kinda understands that once I put her in the crate in the room and shut the door she will cry for about 5 mins now and go to sleep. I do feed her a little earlier then normal and she seems to settle down just when we are about to go to bed now. Hopefully it keeps going in this direction :) |
