Is this really a purebred yorkie 1 Attachment(s) I am looking to purchase a Yorkshire terrier. I was told the puppy is a purebred ACA registered. I am a little concerned with all the white in her coat. Does anyone know if this really a purebred yorkie? Thanks for all your help! |
I really don't think so. Hopefully others will chime in soon with more solid opinions. |
ACA is not a reputable registry. She could be a mix - she could be a Biewer - she even could be purebred. If I am set on a purebred I would not go with a breeder that registers their litters with ACA |

I was a little concerned that she is not purebred. Thank you for your advice. |
Looks like a parti yorkie???... Sure is cute! Purebred or not, it's not a standard colored yorkie. Something else looks a bit different also. |
Little cutie, that's for sure! |
Don't know from purebred dogs, per se, but I know pure cute when I see it! |
IMO it's an adorable mix, not pure breed yorkie. ACA… is an all-breed, international canine registry, it’s a NOTHING registry, just a ploy for ppl that know little of legit registry’s. |
Looks like Yorkie/ShihTzu to me but whatever it is it's ADORABLE that's for sure. |
She's adorable. I could kiss that little girl all day and not care she isn't 100% regular Yorkie. |
Sure looks like a parti yorkie to me. Too cute Her personality shines through her picture...Lynn |
So adorable. I agree that she looks like a shih tzu/Yorkie. Shih tzu are the best dogs. yorkie can be very hyper. A shih tzu yorkie mix is great because shih tzu are pretty calm dogs. |
She looks like a Parti Yorkie to me, so she *could* be a purebred. Everyone else is right, though, the ACA registry is meaningless. You should be able to get a reduced price compared to an AKC Yorkie. She's a cute dog. If you buy her, you can do a Wisdom Panel DNA test to get an idea of whether she's purebred Yorkie. Wisdom Panel isn't 100% perfect, but it will give you a general idea. |
looks like a yorkie mix...please dont be fooled by these registry's that they try to convince you with...and charge a lot more...some people dont do their homework...i almost got tricked into paying a lot more for a yorkie because they were "registered" and claimed they were purebred... with that being said....the puppy is super cute and all it matters is that she goes to a loving home! |
I want to say a couple of things. Paying a premium for a purebred puppy is all well and good - but make sure that premium is well deserved. Don;t support breeders who do not register with reputable registries - in the USA AKC and UKC in Canada CKC and UKC and AKC - and yes some of our breeders choose to register their litters with AKC. This puppy is darling and so very cute but what are the breeding practices of the breeder? What is the health guarantee and is it worth anything? If I have doubts about a purebred status that is enough for me to walk away from that breeder. |
Looks just like my sister's Chorkie (chi and yorkie) whos is absolutely adorable by the way. My sister's looks more like a yorkie, but has bushier hair and a curled tail (love it). Of course, it may be a purebred. |
Purebred or not, that ACA registry is a red flag! If the breeder is asking more than a few hundred dollars then I would walk away. Likely they are not. That being said, just bc a dog is AKC registered doesn't mean they are worth $2000 either. You have to do your homework and what is covered under the health guarantee? If the contract only protects the breeder and not the buyer, that tells you something. If the guarantee is only for a week or 72 hours, that tells you something. Genetic defects don't usually show up for years. Another thing to think about, many breeders will advertise AKC pups and then say oops I don't have the papers I will mail them to you. Guess what, you didn't get AKC papers. By then who would return the dog? I'll bet you won't even be able to get a reply by that time. If the parents are AKC and the pups are not, the breeders were NOT allowed to breed the dogs! That is why those other registries exist. Mostly for people who bought AKC dogs on a limited contract and bred them anyway. They know "papered" dogs sell for more than unpapered, and they know a LOT of people don't know the difference in the registries. |
Oh yeah, and what puppy in the world is not cute?! Don't just fall in love with the puppy and make excuses for the breeder. If you don't make the right decision, you could be in for a world of heartache! |
She is super cute but I had a yorkie growing up and I'm set on getting another one. So many scammers out there it is very discouraging trying to find a yorkie. 😢 |
In my opinion she does not look like a parti yorkie... she looks like a yorkie mix possibly with Shih Tzu as other members have already mentioned but she's cute though. |
Kind of looks like a Morkie to me... Yorkie/Maltese In either case....I'm sold!!!! She's a beauty❤️ |
