Teething I know this must of been talked about before, but figured I'd ask. Cooper seems to have a really sore mouth this last week. Has been off his food, only eating a little at night, but drinking quite a bit. I've been worried about the amount of food so this morning I soaked his kibble some with some warm water. He actually wolfed it down not even chewing. He is one of those one piece at a time eaters. So of course a couple of hours later he threw some of it up. I know he gets very upset if he gets hurt. Like sometimes he will be playing and turn and bump his head... game over... going to go lay down. So I'm thinking that his mouth is sore and he just doesn't want to eat. I've tried some cold things in the freezer, but he just turns his nose up. Not even ice pieces. Does anyone help their pups with some type of pain reliever? Or should I just let him be and hope he gets those teeth in quick. He will be 6 months old on Feb 1st and weighs 3 pounds 4 ounces. |
Going thru that also. I use Moo Free Range Braided Bully Stick Odor Free- 6 inch. I put them in the freezer between letting them chew it. I give them the bully stick about 15-20 minutes, put back in freezer. This seems to help them. |

You might trying wetting washcloth or some such, wring it out (keep it twisted) and freeze. See if your little one is inclined to chew on that as the cold will numb his little gums for a bit. Only give him this when you can supervise. |

I was going to suggest that as it worked for my girl, the cloth was a real saver for us both!!! The first time I seen that double row of front top teeth I was scared to death until someone on here explained it to me.LOL |
We make some great toys and teethers out of fleece strips cut off blankets, old jackets or a small piece bought at the fabric store. Weave or braid the strips and tie knots at the ends. The fleece is light, washable,and wipes their teeth clean as they chew into it.If you dampen and freeze it doesn't leave a puddle as it thaws.(if you are handy at crafts a lanyard weave (google for directions) is fun for hiding small treats in the folds!) |
