Won't stop rolling on the carpets 1 Attachment(s) How can I stop her from rolling on my carpet? She is starting to break hairs on her face. We have tried shaking a can of coins, lasts only a second, engaging her in play a few more seconds. Any suggestions would be helpful. Here is a picture after she is done rolling. |
That's the Zoomies! Zoomies are so much fun! They always give me a big laugh and smile when they are doing it. Looks like so much fun. Just let her do it. It's not a bad thing. Some dogs will have hair breakage no matter what they do! I have one with thin hair and anything causes it to break. Oh well. What can you do? |
Thanks for your quick reply. Yes it is hilarious when she is doing it.Her hair is quite fine and really did not want it to get badly damaged. She also is full of static electricity her hair will stick straight out.Do you know anything to reduce static? |
After baths I rub some coconut oil on my palms and then smooth it over their hair. If you put too much they will look greasy, so that is why I put it on my hands first. Other than that, some water will cut down on static but of course as soon as it's dry, it will come back. |
Lots of cute and lots of character with your sweet girl!! What about spritzing carpet with something safe, organic, but unappealing to her? When Piper used to sliiiide along carpet on the side of her face, I'd either pick her up and scatch her little head/face all over... Or I'd put her on the bed and let slide to her heart's content on top of comforter. |
Is there a specific brand of coconut oil that I should use? If so where can I purchase it? I will try the comforter thanks for the suggestion. I really don't want her walking around looking like she does in the photo. |

Oh and he also does this when I brush him with coconut oil. I have a video of him doing it. Lol |
Since static happen b/c of dry air, you could put a humidifier in the room. I tend to spritz my two more often during winter to give their fur/skin extra moisture. If you google on how to keep static off pets, some ppl recommend rubbing fabric softener sheets but please do NOT do this as it can be very harmful. |
Ha,ha,ha, sorry! She is so cute. I see she has a sweater on. Bubba rubs when ever I put coats etc on him. He is trying to get it off. He also rubs after I have had the rugs shampooed. I think he is trying to get his scent back on them. Our house is so dry right now that we shock each other. Ill have to try to coconut oil. |
Thank you and I am going to put a humidifier in the rooms she spends the most time in. Your right with the dry air, as this did not start happening until we put the heat on. |
Thumper constantly does that. I have all wood flooring so he finds anything soft like my couch or bed and rubs himself on it. It is rather cute |

Coconut oil is easily found at most markets nowadays. No certain brand but I like the raw organic kind. You can also find it at TJ Maxx/Home Goods if you don't find it at the market. One jar is about $8-12 depending on the brand. If you aren't using it for cooking, go ahead and get the cheaper one. I've found some of the cheaper ones have a more toasted nutty smell and flavor, and the more pricey ones are more light and sweet. I would also use a humidifier if you have one. |
Too cute! I recognize that hair do. All I have to do is get out the brush and bows, spend 5 minutes on the cutest top knot, the perfect Do , and as soon as I put them down, they rub all over the carpet. then look up at me like, I LIKE IT THIS WAY! My husband cracks up every time. I have to admit it is pretty funny. |
