How to do you clean the bottom of the feet? Okay , I was inspired by two people for this.... I read about how we need to try to post 2 threads a day and I thought of this thanks to a conversation with my buddy ldeinse yesterday...... Q: How do you clean the bottom of the feet? What do you use and how often? |
You talking about the hair??? I use trimmers and scissors to go in between the pads and toes. They don't like it...I'm sure it tickles. :p |
I guess mine trim their own foot hair by playing outside? I have never done that and their hair does not seem to grow below their feet, even on top. If you trim their nails, just do the tiniest part of the tip, I've made them bleed a couple of times and it scares me to death! |
I can't tell if you mean trimming or really cleaning like after they've been outside - On my girls - I trim under their feet with sizzors - and for after they've played outside - I keep an old towel at my slider door and hope they land on it to dry wet feet...I have tile so it's pretty easy to clean if they come in and leave little paw prints - |
I use babywipes to clean Sammi's feet...She doesnt go outside much but she seems to like having her feet cleaned :) Besides I would rather her feet smell like babywipes than Fritos :) LOL! |
Sorry guys, I meant "how to trim their little feet" I wanted to post something new so the new yorkie owners that are getting to this point will know how to go about it. Thanks for everyone's insight, keep them coming! |
I bought puppy wipes to clean Chloe's feet. I wipe them off at least once a day and if we have spent a little time in the yard playing I will wipe her whole body down with them. I also use them to wipe her 'beard' if she makes a mess eating. If she accidentally steps in her pee trying to get away from the area, I will wash just her feet in the sink with puppy shampoo and water. |

I just cut the hair that hangs longer than the pad, trim the nails at the quick and trim in a round shape on the front part of each foot. |
Awseome!! Good answers everyone! I bet this helped alot of people and gives others like myself new things to try or experiment with! :D |
I use trimmers and then scissors to cut all around the paw. I use the Peanut Trimmers i got at a beauty shop and they are awesome. They have it at pet stores but it's called the Tid-Bit now. Smiles, :) Myra |
How do I do it? I drive them to the groomers!! :D I'm afraid of snipping them and making them bleed, or trimming their little nails too short. If they would only sit perfectly still! |
I haven't trimmed my dogs little paws yet -- and they certainly do need it. But, his litte feet are so cute. I just love them. They're covered with soft little hair all over -- so soft and so sweet - like little feathers. I think when I finally do break down and trim - I'll do it when he's lying on his back on my lap. When he's doing this, he lets me rub and play with his feet a lot - so I think he won't mind a little trimming at the same time. We'll see! Carol Jean |
