Its very easy. You will need a very sharp pair of scissors and a strong light. Take the ear and hold it up to the light so you can see just where the ear line is,this will prevent you cutting to near the skin and hurting her, then carefully snip the sides.Iv learned to do it in one chop now because with the way my two wiggle it would be impossible to be any slower lol. Then with the back and front you just use a clipper. |
Here sweetie - THIS thread has pictures and help on trimming the ears - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=trimming+ears I use the WAHL Trimmer and Shave UPWARDS...and never go against the edge of the ear - the trimmers will gouge their little ear if you try to shave against the edge - just remember - shave the FLAT part of the ear - aiming up. When you Shave in the direction the hair grows.... and you can hold her ear against your thumb and it will do a nice clean job for you - practice makes perfect so don't expect it too look like a professional did it on your first try - |
thanks gina, do you have any before and after pictures you can show me so i know what im doing? i want to know where to use the clipper and how? |
This is what I do!!! Quote:
ear and go up on the inside and outside. Only clip half way up. This is something I learned after a few years. When you sissor around the out side of the ear, do it after a bath when the hair is wet...that way you can use your fingers to make it stick out and it stays in place so it is easy to cut. Hope this helps. |
villette thanks sweetie ,,i will try... |
When I do ears, I do as villette says, but when I get to the edge, I sorta press through flat to my thumb to make the edge straight. If you do that from the front and back, the hair past the edge comes off easily and straight - no chance of cutting between the blades of the shaver. |
i know im not gonna be able to do it. this really stinks, now she looks terrible. question ? with the clipper , do i attach any size combs, or just use as is ? with no attachments.? |
no attachments |
i wont cut her? |
there is another problem, when i tried to do it last nite the hair on her head and ears were like intertwined, i didnt know what part was for the ear and or her head.. i guess i have to separate it with a comb to figure out what to cut right? |
Lexi, measure your Wahl clipper since there are all different sizes. The one I use is 1 and 1/4 " at the base and there is no way you could cut her with this. |
