Charlie acting out... advice?? I think charlie is feeling not as loved as he's use to. I admit that I am not able to give him my undivided attention like i use to anymore since I have a baby demanding my attention all of the time, but I still try my best to pay as much attention to him as I can... But he has been acting out by pooping on the living room floor, which he never did before. I found my baby with it in her hands squishing it and playing with it one day! I usually catch it before she finds it but I just can't have him doing that. How do I resolve this?:confused: |
Is Charlie outdoor or pad trained? Did he tell you before when he needed to poop? You have your hands full with a baby. Is Charlie getting the same amount of potty breaks/exercise that he did before? |
I don't mean to laugh, I know finding your baby playing in doggie poop isn't funny but I couldn't help it. I have stepped in poop with my bare feet and it was not funny to me at the time. Babies and pets....gotta love it. BTW, I don't have any advice for you....sorry but thanks for the chuckle. |

The back door is usually open for him to come in and out freely as he pleases, but no he's not getting as much exercise because I haven't been walking him as much. You are right, that probably has a lot to do with it. I need to make sure I make enough time to walk him everyday!!! Poor charlie. I feel bad about that. Walking him and the baby together is a task because the leash always gets wrapped around the stroller wheels! I'm going to make sure to get him a walk in everyday though. I bet that will fix the problem!! |

No actually it's not funny at all.... It's very disgusting and horrible. That's why i need to make sure that never happens again. |

Maybe Charlie doesn't want to leave to center of action to take the time to go outdoors to do his business, or maybe he is concerned about being left out. Maybe he also feels a sense of obligation to stick around -- does he seem protective of you/and or your baby? Walking always inspires my boys to do their business, so it might help Charlie. I can imagine it is a challenge to handle the stroller and a dog leash. Plus, how is the weather in your area? |

I kind of feel like he does it on purpose. One time we were sitting on the couch watching tv and he walked into the living room and just started shi**ing right in front of us! This is totally new behavior. He NEVER has pooped on the living room floor..... even when we very first moved in. He automatically knew the living room wasn't an ok place to do his business. I think him needing more exercise is probably the problem.... I think he feels neglected. So I am going to try that route first. When the rest of the family is home I am going to make the time to just take him for a walk while the baby stays inside. I'm in California... The weather is usually tolerable. lol |
