Smart as a whip Sorry, I made a post in another thread that was totally unrelated to the thread, so am starting a new one. Every time I took Lacy into the kitchen, I set her on her UGO pad many, many times, and she would always jump off and pee on the tile. So yesterday, and today, I spent time with her, training her with a cheerio as a treat, to jump on the UGO pad when I said POTTY. I opened up the whole kitchen to her tonight for the first time, and practiced our first command. Figured for sure I would get a pee or two on the floor, which would not be surprising, considering her world has just opened up on her. But, I just saw her go over to the UGO pad and pee. OMG, what a smart little puppy she is. She understands the command of Potty in just three 5 minute sessions. I am so looking forward to training this little girl. :) |
What a smart little girl, give her time, she is adjusting to her new home and mama. What ever you are doing is working, so keep it up. |
How wonderful! Every acomplishment is a huge achievement! You know what would be awesome? More pics of your little one!!!:) |

Cute and clever little Lacy!!! Good job! Since it took sooo long for Piper to decide to be housebroken, each time I take a shower and Piper doesn't have an "accident" and every time she lets me know she wants to go out, we have a little celebration-- I figure I'll praise and get excited for every success! Little Lacy sounds smart and also like she wants to please her loving mama. You goooo, girls!!! (oops, unintended little pun!) |
You guys are so funny. lol I am grateful for all of your wonderful comments! There are sure a lot of amazing people on this list! |
I absolutely love training or teaching out little Mia things because she really seems so eager to learn. I don't know if all breeds are as smart as our Yorkies, but I am so amazed at how intelligent Mia is. We talk to her like she's a baby - not the tone, but repeating words so she knows what things are. She can differentiate between different toys - ask her to get her rooster, she'll scan the room for it, the yellow ball, same thing. All we have to say is "go potty" outside and she'll pee. I swear if you tell her 10 times she'll squat (on three legs always) and try to get a drip out if she doesn't need to go anymore. We live in a townhome, so if she poops she knows we go to the dumpster to throw out the bag. She heads there on her own after saying "we have to go to the dumpster" everytime she pooped. As a matter of fact, I'd love to start a post on all of our babies little quirks and cute "talents" Good Luck! |
Mia sounds like a real love. I find it amazing that they can differentiate between their toys and know which one is which. My Chanel was able to do that also. I would hide one toy underneath all of her others in a pile, and tell her to fetch it and she would go through the whole pile, and pull out the one I told her to fetch. How can they know which one to pick out from all their toys??? I agree, Yorkies are SO intelligent! |
they are very smart |
