my first quick thought is to go to the AKC website for into. You need to find a show that you want to enter - there is a form and entry fee. Just starting to show, they will need to walk on a leash nicely, be able to "stack" on a table for the judge to inspect them. They should be use to the hand going over their body and they also check for a good bite. Grooming is important and make sure they don't go potty in the ring. Also you might want to attend a couple of dog shows to get the feel of the ring and what happens. There are usually a lot of rings in a row so there will be other dogs around including the ones that are in your class. Also have you had your dog evaluated yet to get an idea if it is show quality? Good Luck |
Thank you so much for all youre info, but no i haven't have her evaluated yet, do you know where I can do that, thank you so much again. |
How old is your baby? Who is your breeder? Were her parents show dogs? |
Most AKC local clubs offer conformation classes. Also check if there is a local Yorkie club - can look on the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America site. See if your breeder shows and would mentor you. Good luck! Attend all the dog shows you can and watch and learn. |
