I am am new, but have a question.. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, and not sure if I should of asked this here or where I already posted it in the Breeders Forum. I have a problem with droopy ears. MY little guy is 16 weeks old, 4.5 pounds and have ears that droop over. I have tried to use masking tape as suggested in a book. I worked for a few hours, then down they came. Does anyone have any other suggestions??????? Thanks!!! |
Welcome to YT!!!! I have no idea about the ears, I'm sure someone will have the right answer for you. But I did want to welcome you!!!!! We would love to see pictures! :D :D :D |
ears you have to shave the ears to get the weight of the hair off of them.the cartlidge is really soft in yorkies ears and the hair holds them down :) buy some beard and mustache trimmers. i have used those and they work pretty good. |
Yes, I was going to say to shave the ears also. You would be surprised how much that weighs the ears down. Good luck and welcome to YT! |
You can take some light cardboard, like that on a match package and cut it just a bit smaller than the shape of the inside ear leather, and tape that to the ear with masking tape, then put a piece of tape from one ear to the other in a standing position on both the back and front of ears. If he does not get it off, you will have to take it off after about 4 or 5 days and let the ear rest for a couple of days and redo if necessary. |
Don't know about the ears..never had that prob but I just wanted to welcome you to yt...show us some pics. |
