Tradtional/ biewer mix Anyone have one of these dogs? Curious as to what they look like as adult?? I know it is a mixed bred. Saw where someone had accidentally bred her biewer with traditional. Thanks so much |
I think you might need to wait until the pup is a bit more grown up to find out. I don't know of any other way to tell since there is likely no way to know exactly which 'genes' the pup inherited, and what color changes it might go through. Sorry...are you thinking of getting the pup? |
Ok thanks I just thought maybe someone on here had one and could post a pic. I know that it is like a traditional Yorkie in that they change as they get older. If anyone has one a pic would be great and yes I thought of getting one. |
If I wanted the pup, potential looks would not deter me from my quest...LOL However, if you were to use a search engine...like google.com...and look for photos, you would likely see many different looks. You 'might' kind of expect certain features, considering the traits of both have a 'historical' basis. However, although the Biewer was developed using Yorkie genetics, there is not, as I understand it, a piebald gene in the Yorkie to give it the white hair. Also, piebald is not predictible, so a Yorkie/Biewer mix could have lots of white or look completely Yorkie. If it has white, there could be a very asymetrical pattern, etc. There is just no real way to predict, would be my guess. |

I believe in Germany and Biewer Yorkies are still breeding Biewer to Yorkies. Some people feel it is too soon to close the stud book because of the limited gene pool on Biewers. Biewer Terriers are only bred Biewer to Biewer. The pups will either look like Biewers or Yorkies depending on how the genes are expressed. In Germany they often had Biewers and Yorkies born in the same litter, and they would name the breed based upon the dog's phenotype. |

Yep but everyone missed the simple question and point..... It was a simple one does anyone have biewer/ traditional yorkie mix?? Guess not since the relevant part went out the window or over some people's thinking.... Mixed breed dogs are some of the best dogs u can have as I have adopted some in the past. Thanks anyway everyone and have a blessed one. |

I think all the OP was asking if anyone here had a dog that was a mix of 1. a traditional colored yorkie 2. a Biewer she knows that would be a mix, but wanted to see a photo of one. Personally I think it would look like either breed or a just a lot of mixed up colors and be cute |
Thank you! Someone that actually has a clue! Simple question but people have to put big debate about biewer and traditional being mixed breed like I didn't already know that.... Some people just want to debate things instead of just posting pic as requested IF anyone had one. Since I never got answer to my original question and just junk, I guess no one has one. Thanks |
