Lost my pup, but found 2 others! My beloved Chanel died a couple of months ago from kidney failure. I spent the next month looking for a puppy, and after contacting breeders from all over Canada and the U.S., I finally found one just 25 minutes from home. I went over to see the pups and fell in love with one of them, a boy, I named him Cosmo. I paid for him in full, and went back several times to visit and totally bonded with him. One week before I was supposed to take him home, the breeder called to say that she had taken him in for his first shots and tests, and he had elevated kidney levels. She was crying when she told me this, as she knew that Chanel had died from kidney failure, and now my new puppy had kidney problems. That was so heartbreaking to hear. So I had to give up the idea of taking him home, and started looking all over again. I finally found TWO adorable Bewier terriers, brother and sister, and I get them in about ten days! I will be picking them up on my drive to Arizona (where I spend the winters) from British Columbia. That will be some challenge, two 3 month old puppies in my car for a three day drive. LOL I am beyond excited and cannot wait to be a Mom again!!! |
I need to delete the pic with my puppy that I thought I was going to get, but can't figure out how to change my pic, can someone please tell me? Many thanks! |
So happy you found 2! I love Having 2 puppies. I had to drive mine 12 hours to get them home and I had my older Yorkie with me as well. They did great though. To change your profile pic go to the User CP tab on The bar above the forum stuff. Then look for profile picture on the left hand column. You should be able to change it there. I can't wait to see the new pups and hear all about them. |
Congratulations! Twice as much love and puppy kisses, very exciting. |
Congrats on your 2 pups! I did the same thing last February... went to see one and ended up buying two. I now had three yorkies under a year and a half. Best thing I ever did ... They filled my life. |
Thanks, Jade, Teddybear and Nenamos, for sharing my excitement with me! :-) |
Sorry, I meant Buddybear. :-) |
I am so sorry about your loss of Chloe, and about the baby having kidney problems, since I cannot imagine something like that not breaking lots of hearts. I do want to congratulate you on the two new Biewer babies, though. I hope you and your cute new babies enjoy your trip. |
Awww, CONGRATS on your 2 new babies :)! Pics please! |
So sorry for the bad news on your first selection for a baby, wonderful that the breeder told you this. On a happier note how exciting, two babies, so much fun and laughter awaits you (and a bit more work lol) you will never regret getting two babies, double the fun. double the love. |
Awe congratulations!! I have two siblings, brother and sister. It was definitely an adventure when they were little pups, but double the smiles and laughter they give you. Can't wait to see pictures! |
Congrats on your new babies . They are adorable .. |
Sharon, I'm very sorry about the loss of your Chanel and the other baby you were going to get but I'm very happy to hear that you have found two new babies to bring into your family. I have 2 yorkie puppies, a male who just turned 1 and a 10 month old female. I got them 2 months apart last winter. It was one of the best things i have ever done. They have played, potty trained, slept, eaten, wrestled and are growing up together. They keep each other company and where one is, so is the other one. If you hear silence, you better investigate because 2 can get in way more trouble together than 1 can. I hope you share with us the adventures and love they are going to bring to you and their pictures. Good luck with picking them up and driving to your winter home. |
Congrats on the two new furbabies! |
Thank you all, from what everyone says, having two is going to be twice the fun of having one! Wigglewomyn says: "If you hear silence, you better investigate because 2 can get in way more trouble together than 1 can." I will remember that!!! lol It will be about a 7 hour drive to the breeders to pick up the pups, and then I will get a motel for the night as close as I can, set up the playpen, and play and get acquainted with them. What fun that will be!!! Next day I will start the 3 day drive to Arizona. I sure hope they will do okay in the car. At least they will have each other for comfort. |
Make sure you have a crate to put them in while in the car. We drove our 2 pups home (12 hours) and they were in the crate during the drive even though my husband drove. I would have loved to have held them on my lap but I think the crate was a much better and safer solution. We got them out every few hours to potty and walk them around. The crate was big enough for a much larger dog, but small enough to fit in the back seat of the car. They had more than enough room to move around comfortably in it and didn't take up 1/4 of the floor space of it. I lined it with pee pads and a blanket for them and some toys. I had a small dish of food in it but offered them water at stops so they wouldn't spill it. They had the food everywhere in the crate, but it was just dry food so no big deal. When is the trip? Good luck! |
I see you have changed your avatar, the babies are beautiful. Yes, if you do not see or hear them lol, they for sure are getting into mischief lol. |
Thanks, Jade, I do have a large crate for them, with a very comfortable blanket, and half a dozen chew toys. :-) The crate will be in the passenger seat, so I can keep an eye on them. I am going to pick up some belly bands and girl diapers for the drive, just in case as I don't want them to pee in the crate. I bought harnesses for them, so will stop often at rest stops and let them go for a walk. It will be an experience! |
Oh, I leave on Saturday! |
Very exited for you! Just saw your avatar your babies are adorable! |
Thanks all! :-) I have to admit to being very nervous, as I have spent a great deal of money on these two pups, and all I have seen is one picture of them each. When I paid for my first pup, (that I ended up not getting because he had elevated kidney levels) his brother cowered in the corner of the create the entire time I was there, and he was shaking, he was so scared. I hope neither of these two will be like that. But if they are, would they likely outgrow their fear, or might they just be a very timid and scared pup? |
They are beautiful. Be safe as you make your journey home and never take yor eyes off of them. I took mine into the restroom with me. As they get bigger you might consider a car seat, mine love it and are safely restrained. Best of luck |

Hopefully they will both be outgoing and wonderful girls. My puppies were amazing from day one! My friend socialized them well and they were used to kids, other dogs and even a cat. They love people and they are very social and well adjusted. I take them lots of places to keep them social. Don't forget that even girl puppies will hump each other when they are little. It is to show who is dominant and not trying to mate with each other. Mine went through a stage where they would be humping each other a lot in an attempt to figure out who was dominant. They have mostly outgrown it and rarely do that now. The will play fight and it will sound like they are really fighting. Once you get used to how it sounds you will know the difference. Mine are wrestling with each other right now. They stand up and fight and wrestle and play. They are so much fun. Do always check on them if they are quiet. They are either asleep or into trouble. They say Silence is Golden, unless you have a puppy, then Silence is suspicious, very suspicious. It is even worse with 2 puppies! LOL Mine did not go in the crate on the way home, they would start barking when they need to go so we would find a place for them. Do try to walk them where other dogs have not been as you don't want them to pick up anything at a rest stop. Good luck and I am so excited for you! |
How exciting for you. It will be a challenge for you with 2 puppies. Can't wait to hear about their antics. |
Jade, very good point about walking them where other dogs have not been. Thanks! :-) |
