When should I get a puppy? I will be getting a puppy very soon, just after Christmas. We were going to get a pup now, but we are going camping for 2 weeks over Christmas, and no dogs are allowed, so we decided to get after. I have been looking at ads for yorkies, and the best ad has come up. If we got a puppy now, would it be okay? Or would it be advised to wait? Thanks in advance |
Best to wait! You will just be getting the baby then you have to leave it at a boarding kennel....just wait to get the baby. Spend this time reading all about Yorkies and what you need to expect and what you need to do for that baby...."Yorkies For Dummies" is a book I highly recommend. Read it cover to cover so you know what to expect and how to deal with it. |
I would wait too. The pup would be too young to board. Trust me, you won't want to leave the little one. |
I also advise waiting. If you're going camping even if they allowed dogs, this baby would be to young to be allowed out until it receives all it's vaccines. Baby is to young to board and I would not trust anyone, not even a knowledgeable family member to puppy sit this baby. Wait until your camping trip is over, then let your quest begin to find that perfect little fur butt. Happy trails. |
I would wait it out. I could imagine the excitement you're feeling, but your puppy's best interest should be first priority. Boarding wouldn't even be an option because the pup would be too young. |
