Hope I'm Not Repeating, but
 
How can someone put a Yorkie on Craigslist? Is it likely stolen? Mistreated? It literally is making me and husband sick. This poor baby looks terrified in the photos. A re-homing fee of $400. We didn't pay that much for our beautiful baby from the man we got Zeus from. We feel so bad for his puppy.

Yes these poor puppies. Many back yard greeders use the term re-home to imply that you are rescuing the dog but they are merely selling them for profit. So sad.

Thank you. Zeus is our first pet, and we just don't know the ins and outs of these bad people in breeding. I was hoping it wasn't someone's stolen puppy. Either way, my poor husband is beside himself thinking about this poor baby. He contacted the person, and they said they had "too many" and had to get rid of some. Sick.

By the way, I just noticed that it's listed as a Teacup Yorkie!

I've been on Craigslist a few times and I'm always surprised at how many Yorkie's I see listed. It's always the same excuse too where they're allergic or they're moving and won't have time anymore. Ugh it's so sad.

I would strongly advise people to stay away from buying a puppy from a listing such as this. You have NO idea if this dog is actually stolen, or from puppy mills, etc.... There are hundreds of dogs stolen and flipped on Craigslist within 24 hours....this is as bad as buying dogs from a parking lot or side of the road.

Of course, no one is going to hear this..............

We have no intentions of buying the dog. We can't afford it, but we can certainly be concerned and we are. We don't purchase anything on Craigslist as we're not interested in being possibly hurt ourselves. Someone showed my husband the picture.

I know it's not the ideal place to buy a dog and I know my situation isn't par for the course so to speak but I am very glad that people post their unloved, unwanted, not so perfect, and often poorly cared for yorkies on CL. Otherwise, Duke and Mya would be at a pound somewhere or dead. Sometimes you really are saving a dog when you rehome. Again I repeat I KNOW that's not always the case.

Very true. I'd rather they found a good/better home than end up at a kill shelter...

That's why in those cases you ask for the puppy's paperwork. If they don't have it, it's probably stolen.

You always need to be very, very careful--public places and all that--but sometimes, just sometimes, there is a real situation and all parties benefit. And if it means saving one another...well, bless that little canine and the humans who took a chance in 'saving' him...

I never realized that so many stolen dogs are sold on Craig's list, that is so sad.
