Finding alittle hair I have a yorkie/poodle mix who is almost 7 months old. She's very healthy. I'm finding little bits of her hair on my bed. Is this from her getting her "adult" hair in? She's also changing colors now. What has been everyone's experience at this age and your pups hair? |
Yorkies and poodles do not shed like dogs with double coats do. They will lose a little hair like humans. My boys are in full coat and they are rough on their hair, so we pick up a fair amount of hair on bedding and the carpet. Softer bedding (silkier cottons, satin) helps minimize breakage. Carpet and grass can be hard on the coat. Puppy coats can be fuzzier and more prone to breakage. Scratching will also cause breakage. I believe that as long as you are not seeing gobs of hair, everything is okay. |
Thanks! I do have soft bedding. I was curious as to whether she was losing hair from getting her adult hair. Just a thought. She's my first yorkie mix so I'm new to all of this. |
I keep both my furbutts in summer/puppy cuts. Just so much easier to manage. Even with short hair I still find bits of their hair randomly. With that said, I find more of MY hair than my furbutts. -_-; So much that I think I can make a wig out of it one of these days... LOL TMI? |

You can use those sticky rollers but will waste so much. I learned this little trick that really does a great job. Get a fine grain pumice stone and rub it through the carpets. You'll catch all the fine/thin hair you probably wouldn't have noticed before! For my own hair... I think I should just use a rake.... :p |
My Princess used to leave clumps of hair on my white sheets...it's a form of allergy. She's very sensitive to perfumes & dyes, scents...so I have to be very careful of detergents, household cleaning products, etc. So I don't use dryer sheets, only vinegar & water to clean, no candles, no air fresheners, etc. I also found a wonderful all natural shampoo bar by The Honest Kitchen. I got the Apple Cider Vinegar, it is wonderful! It works so well on all my 4 Yorkies, just love it & highly recommend. It has completely healed Princess' skin, I am in awe. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ampoo-bar.html |
