What does his vet say? About the teeth and the weight? |
For his teeth the vet said not to worry because they are coming out now, about his weight she said that he seem to be a bit heavy but didn't say anything else and she didn't advise me to put him in a sort of diet. |
Is Milo's playing, eating, drinking, etc.. normally? If so, I don't think there's anything to worry about. If anything, I'd say he's growing up to be a Teapot! From what I've been reading, unless you see something unusual about him (lethargy, vomiting, etc), there's no such thing as a fat puppy. And just from what I see in the picture, he doesn't look fat to me at all. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure others will be happy to chime in~ Keep in mind that Yorkies come in variety of sizes, shape, colors. But if you're worried, it never hurts to get a vet to check him out. :) |
He is eating aloot, very hyper and love playing so i guess he is healthy. I was just worried because what i knew was a fully grown yorkie would be around 7 pounds, but now knowing about the Teapot then i guess thats what he is gonna be. Thank you :) |

There are many members here with teapots (myself included!) who absolutely love them! My Magnus is 15 lbs and there are other members who have even bigger furries! |
If he's playing a lot and super hyper he is burning off that food, all puppies are a bit chubby, as for adult weight, no breeder can "guarantee" what weight a puppy will be as an adult. The yorki standard weight is 5 to 7 lbs, that is NOT to say every yorkie born will be this weight. I have had 4 now passed yorkies one was 9 lbs, 2 were 13 lbs and one was 17 lbs, my adopted boy is 12 lbs. They are still yorkies, just bigger yorkies, your little guy is a cutie for sure. |
Milo is so dang cute, but not fat---plus I think it'd be rare for a puppy to be fat! My Piper is 9.5 lbs of perfect-for-me; big enough to get on and off furniture, etc, but little enough that I can carry her in my arms for long periods. She's just exactly right! And no matter his size, I'm sure you'll believe the same of your Milo. Did I mention how danged cute he is....?!! |
Welcome to you and Milo. He is adorable. I love both my 10 lb teapots. |
That precious soul is 16 weeks old, absolutely adorable, "snakes and snails and puppy dog tails.....THAT is what little boys are made of!!!!!!" Kiss kiss that precious mouth/nose!! Now, I would not worry for one second about that baby's size or weight! He is a PUPPY!!! He will grow into any weight he is putting on! When he is a year old, THAT is when you worry about weight gain....he is a baby and he is still growing, and he needs all the nutrition and muscle and fat and body building tissue he is adding all over his adorable skeleton....he will all come out just fine!!! NOW is NOT the time to worry about weight gain! That would be like putting a 2 year old kid on a diet....dont deprive him of the building blocks he will use to construct his frame for when he is a grown boy, at 1 year old! |
I agree....I would not say that he is fat. He's far too young to be labeled an overweight dog. Our chi x looked "fat" when she was a baby but barely weighed 1 1/2 # ....she made it to 3 #. Now Winnie, our yorkie weighed barely 2# until she was about 18 weeks and then slowly went up to 4# and now 5# ...she hasn't gained any more weight since she was around 9 months. He may gain more weight but he may not. If he does, while it's not considered "standard" it doesn't mean he's not a yorkie....he just extra awesomeness that is! He's very very cute! |

Puppies need more food than adults, so don't underfeed him. Growing takes lots of energy. :) |
He's adorable, and not fat. Don't worry. What everyone else has already said, I, tho not a vet or breeder, totally agree. Enjoy him! |
I love him, so, so cute. Got those long sexy legs. He's NOT fat, just super sweet. 😍 |
