Hoping to hear that all went well at the vet. We got a girl who had her share of problems, but we were also afraid that if we took her back, they would just put her down. We have battled through some issues, but Bella is by far the love of our lives and we would not have done it differently. |

If the puppy is 12 weeks or older that will make it easier to sort out some potential problems. One thing I would suggest is to get a full blood panel done that checks things like liver, thyroid, and kidney functions etc. Unfortunately a general puppy check where the vet only looks at the outside of the puppy does not really show things like liver shunt, blood work will help but still not guarantee you will be free from health issues. Also because some others have problems with the breeder does not mean you will. For example while I would never buy from a pet store others have and while some people have gotten sick dogs some have not. Personally I bought Lola from a backyard breeder that most YT members would not approve of, I did that because I did not want to pay an arm and a leg for a puppy but I did know the risks. I bought her at 14 weeks and had a full blood panel done the day after I brought her home, so far at almost 5 years old she has been healthy. I often say buying a puppy even an expensive one from a breeder that health tests (been there done that) is still a crap shoot. Good luck and hopefully your pup will be free of health issues |

Me too.... Someone once said, (paraphrasing here!) "Doing the same thing, the same way, over and over and expecting a different outcome......". I forget the rest of the saying and my egg noodles just boiled over!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta run........!!!! |

Yeah, but a few of the newbies stick around. I just joined not too long ago, and have since learned a lot and contributed a little :). So, you just never know who will stick around and who will not. Try to convince yourself it is not insanity, just wishful thinking :D. |
