Sophie and catnip I plan to ask the vet this next time we are in and have looked on Google and haven't found anything completely opposed to this, but I am just looking for opinions from you guys. Sophie lives with 3 cats and there are many cat toys around our apartment. However, we have noticed that Sophie is addicted to playing with the ones filled with catnip or cat nip scented. She has plenty of her own toys but rarely wants to play with those, but if she finds a cat toy, it is game on. She has three toys that she prefers - and they are all cat toys! She likes ping pong balls filled with little pebbles and covered with fabric that rattle - she loves crushing them and throwing them around. She loves little mice. She rips their tails off and then squishes their poor little faces. (Both those toys she only can play with if we are supervising her and as soon as the tail is ripped off or she puts a hole in the ball they are taken away and thrown out) However, our cats have a cat nip filled cigar that Sophie has an obsession with. She walks around with it sticking out of her mouth and it looks adorable but she just sits there and sucks on it and tried to chew it the way she would chew a bone or something. I guess what I am curious about is 1. Do any of your dogs seem obsessed with cat nip? and 2. Can catnip hurt a dog? She has been doing it for awhile now and hasn't ripped through it and like the other cat toys she only has it if we can watch her and is she rips it open it will be thrown out. I have googled it and basically find things saying the cat nip isn't the problem, it is if they ingest little parts of the cat toy. So I am just hoping for some opinions from people here as well! |
I have no suggestions, just wanted to say that must be so cute and funny to watch this silly little girl playing with the cats toys. |

My Duchess walks around with her bully stick in her mouth too. It is sooo freakin cute. And every night when we go to bed, if she forgets her it, she will search the house to find it to bring it to bed with her. |
