My Babies have arrived! Thumper and Boomer are here! :D They are just adorable and very playful. Great on a leash and will do their business outside of I take them. Though they won't tell me so we a had a couple accidents today. Trying to pee pad train them for when I am not home or bad weather outside. That will take some time as they just stood their like what do I do with this? Appreciate any suggestions. Right now they are laying on my bed which they jumped on themselves all pooped out. We have a Vet appt. tomorrow and they will take their first subway ride. I am attaching a pic I hope it uploads properly |
Here is the pic 1 Attachment(s) Sorry here is the pic I figured out how to upload |
Congratulations! They are adorable. I'm sure you'll be very busy with your new pups! You'll love them to pieces! |
Adorable!! :animal-pa:animal-pa I'm not sure on the pee pads. Jackson never took to them even as a pup. He needs room to sniff etc and is very particular about where he pees lol. I would imagine it would be tougher to teach adults to use pads but if you said they had a few accidents in the house, maybe it's teachable... they do sell grass patches as well that you may try? They're so cute. Congrats! |
Congrats and enjoy! |
When I was potty training Dolly I take a potty pad make sure his potty on it and told her what a good girl clapped my hands and made a real big deal out of it and then gave her a treat with 10 days she was traine |
Congrats on becoming a mommy to your two new furbabies. That are adorable! After 10 months, mine still don't really tell me when they have to go out. They go to the back door and stand there. If i see them and let them out, great. If not, i find a present <g> They have me well trained. I bought bells and put them next to the door but both puppies refuse to ring them. If you want to pad train them, try wiping up one of their accidents with the pad, and then show them the pad when it is time for them to go. That might help them realize what the pads are for. How were they trained at the foster care or were they kept at a shelter? I wish we had vets open on Sundays. I have never heard of a vet open Sundays except the emergency hospital. Hope your visit there goes well and that you like the vet. Good luck adjusting to having the babies. Get ready for many years of love, laughter and joy. |
Congratulations on two beautiful puppies! I would love to train Buddybear to use piddle pads when the weather is bad. He hates the rain and snow. |
Congratulations, they are just tooooo cute, I am sooo happy for you, and your babies look like they adore you already, just made them selves at home on "their" new bed and happy smiles on their faces. Bless you again for giving these babies a new life. I love their names. |
Congratulations They are too cute ... They look pretty happy .. |
So adorable! Yea teddy needed to be potty trained as my mom is very against pee pad so we started by here's the pad by the door so he smells over in that area and when I'd catch him I'd praise him but 95% of the time he'd hide behind the couch and do his business and then chew up the pad so we quickly had to start taking him out every time we catch him sniffing he still doesn't tell us he has to go but if he wants out I rush to get him out in case |
Congrats on your babies!! They're so cute! |
Thumper and Boomer are adorable! Congratulations! |
The Vet visit went well today. Some issues came up but nothing major. Boomer may have some type of allergy due to spots on his belly skin. I was just told to look out of it with allergy season approaching. He also has slight cataract in one eye that the vet feels he was born with. Thumper only has something with his knee that can pop out. Can't remember the exact name but the vet also said its nothing to worry about. He also felt their ages were misquoted he believes Thumper is between 5-6 years old and Boomer is 4-5 years old. I was originally told 3-4 years old. I wish they were younger but ow well. I still love them. Now trying to find the best pet insurance. Does anyone have any suggestions? Healthy Paws was recombined to me. I asked the vet not to include any of the issues if he felt they do not need to be dealt with right now until I get insurance otherwise they are considered pre-existing conditions. Hopefully he did as I asked. He said for rescue dogs they are in great health. |
Thanks for the up-date on vet visit. It's great you were able to get them to the vet so soon. As far as their issues, just follow your vets recommendation, and love these boys for who they are and who they will become with your love and guidance. Just want you to know, if I were in your shoes I would have taken them both since they were bonded, I would not have separated them. |
