Welcome to YT and thank you for rescuing this little girl. The first thing to do when you get a puppy or a rescue dog is take them for a vet check 24 to 48 hours after you get them. 24 hours is ideal. I have never breed a dog so cannot help with what to look for or how long before you see a vet to find out if she's pregnant, I will say, since you have her 10 days and didn't take her for a vet check, I would make that a priority. Get to vet ASAP. Hopefully some of our breeders may be able to offer up what to look for in early stage of pregnancy.
| She needs to be vet checked.....I can only imagine the sad story behind this event if, in fact, that little lady has been bred and is pregnant, and the breeder got rid of her. Breeder would have never done that unless there was going to be a problem and the breeder KNEW there was going to be a problem....that was potential income for a breeder, unless she KNEW there were going to be major issues/expenses, either with the puppies or the momma or the actual birthing event.
Please have this little girl checked out immediately, that is just what you do with a new dog you take into your home, and if there is any question of the mommas life being at risk, terminate the pregnancy immediately, before you loose the entire shooting match, including this little female. |
