anyone tried pet phamacies? - to buy heartgard, revolution, frontline and stuffs Hi, yorkie-lovers :) ;) I am a mother of three cats and two dogs. so taking them to a vet every month for deworming costs me arms and legs. I've read something the other day that there are online pet pharmacies. My friend tried 'petbucket' and she seems like she is satisfied with the product and service. I put an order at petbucket the other day, but I'm not sure whether I did the right thing. I didn't compare the cost with other sites before ordering, not to mention that I'm not sure about the quality of the service from there. I'm just wondering, has anyone tried petbucket or any other online pet pharmacies? any recommendations for this newbie? |
A lot of people pharmacys carry pet meds now like heartgard and revolution. |
I have ordered my meds from Pets Mega Store, located in Australia, for years....but then I discovered J.R.Enterprises....he has Ivermectin and he explanes how to dose your dog....will save you HUNDREDS of dollars. Also, tells how to utilize Frontline Plus in divided doses, topically for flea control.....also will save you HUNDREDS of dollars a year. I had posted the contact info/dosing info on here a week or so ago.... will save you hundreds of dollars a year, and it is the same Ivermectin vets/rescues/kennels/breeders have used for many, many years....cost effective!! |
I ordered my k9 advantix II and sentinel spectrum from Drsfoster and smith this year and saved a bundle over what it would've cost me at the vet. I placed my order, they contacted my vet, received the prescription, and then mailed my order to me. They have many rx meds too. Of course, as always, i believe it is good to compare websites' policies and prices. Good luck. |

No, We are not selling from within a country that requires a prescription. I'd rather pay a bit more and know I'm getting the right product, it works out to about $5 a month difference. I would trust a site like drfosters, it's $82 there and they need a prescription. |

You shouldn't be able to get heart worm meds without a prescription. You really should only have to go to the vet once a year for heart worm meds. You get blood work yearly to check for heart worms and then you can generally buy a year worth of the meds at the vet. You shouldn't have to take them monthly. I know a year or so ago they were saying to be careful because some places where selling counterfeit products. I feel better just getting it from my vet. |
I always buy from 1-800-pet-meds. They are very reasonable. |
Be careful buying heart worm medication online. If your dog should get heart worm while on medication (rare) the manufacturers won't pay for treatment if not bought from authorized vets. Dr..Fosters and Smith has their own guarantee.. I prefer to get my medications from my vet. I have purchased from Dr. Fosters and Smith when my vet was unable to get a medication due to a national shortage. Drs. Foster & Smith Pharmacy guarantees all of the prescription heartworm preventives they sell |
