Newbie Good day Yorkie Lovers I am a Newbie and would love to participate on this forum especially to learn more from experienced Yorkie owners. I have two gorgeous Yorkies, Katie, 3 years and Lexie, 2 Years old. They are loved to bits by my entire household and they know they can get away with murder! Can anyone give me advice on travelling with these two. Katie travels well but Lexie gets extremely anxious and gets car sick quickly. We are planning a family holiday soon and the dogs are going along, but this would mean at least 8 hours of travelling. Kind regards Elize |
1 Attachment(s) Have you tried a booster seat for Lexie, one that is elevated OFF the passenger seat. My adopted boy would get car sick until I got this booster seat at Pet Supplies Plus store, here is a picture of the booster seat. Cody has been using it 1.5 years and has never gotten sick since.Name of booster seat at Pet supplies….Tagalong Pet Booster Seat…large size holds up to 18 Lb dog. Basket dimensions: 16” W x 14”D x 8” H Cody weighs 12 Lbs. I got the large so he has room to lay down and sleep. They also sell sizes small and Med. |
Hi and welcome - your babies sound perfectly spoiled :D! You'll fit right in here at YT! For traveling...if there is extreme anxiety, I'd be asking my vet for either something for the tummy upset and/or Acepromazine (sp?) - a tranquilizer which will relax her and ease her anxiety. For our 3, we bought the "Pet Tube" off of Amazon and put the whole thing in our back seat and it fit them just great...plenty of room for blankets, beds etcetera. |
