Wet Buddy Belt? 1 Attachment(s) People have asked "can you get the leather Buddy Belt wet?". Last Tuesday we went to Red Bank Dog Days and this is the picture that was posted on their Facebook page. Since Bubba has a pool at home he decided to take a dip while there. Take a look at the look of shear disgust on Sissy's face at his behavior! |
Uni has gotten her BB wet many times and it's still in great shape! |
LOL! Bubba is having a blast and Sissy is thoroughly unimpressed. :D Great photo of your babies. |
Just condition it afterward, and it ought to be fine. :) Leather is pretty resilient stuff, and horse tack gets wet often- and it does damage the leather if you leave it alone but if you condition it after it usually holds up fine. I try to take ours off for water play but dogs will be dogs. |
Bubba sees water and he is in it! The one he is wearing has been in baby pools, regular pools, the ocean, the bay, rain and snow. I got it from Maximo (Kristin) on here and conditioned it as soon as we got it and it is holding up great. |
We've never conditioned ours and they are still in great condition. Uni loves to run into streams, fountains and splash pads. She always gets hers wet. |
Such a cute pic!!!!! I'm going to invest in a BB soon but buy from the States cuz they're the same price, numerically in the UK, but the exchange rate makes them cheaper from the US! The things I have to consider for simple purchases..lol |

Buddy Belts also recommends laying the harness flat to dry if it does get soaked. Don't put it in intense sun or heat. They had a customer who put one in the back window of a car in the sun and it shrunk. :D They also caution against salt water and the potential to rust the hardware. Wipe down the hardware with fresh water and dry to help prevent rust. |
