Underweight My 13 year old baby has lost weight over the past year.. Is this age related? He seems to eat up all his food and snacks..anyone know? |

My pup passed away at age 17 y/o, her adult weight was 17 lbs. Age 15 y/o I noticed some slight weight loss, the older they get, the more they sleep, her appetite declined slightly. At age 13 y/o she was still her naughty mischievous little (big) self. If you have a tiny pup, it wouldn't hurt to check with your vet. |
I would say that as long as he is eating, pooping, playing and otherwise acting normal it is probably not a big deal. A call or visit to the vet for reassurance would be a small price to pay though. |
If he feels way to skinny, then I'd most def be taking him to the vet bc something serious could be going on. But if he's just lost a bit of weight, it could be just age related muscle wasting/loss or something. You could feed him a few calorie dense treats like peanut butter and cheese to boost him back up... |
