Happy to hear that the vet's visit went well. That poor little girl. It doesn't sound like the breeder took very good care of her; not bathing, crate or potty training her. To me, it would be less work to potty train the puppy than to have it going all over the house. I know just from what you have posted that your baby will have a much better home with you and be loved much, much more! To get her to eat some of her food, you could sprinkle some parmesan cheese on it. They usually love that. I am sure, if she is used to that food and ate it at the breeder's, that once she gets used to your house and you that she will start eating again. When you take her out, tell her 'go potty', and as you have been doing, clap your hands and praise her when she does go. Hopefully your little lady will stop going in the crate once she gets used to the idea of going out. Apparently she doesn't know any better yet. You sound as though you are calmer and the good vet visit probably made you feel better. Owning a new puppy is sort of like having a newborn. You find out what works from other knowledgeable people and trial and error. |
