I see dog food bags saying "senior" is 8+ years, but that just seems too young to me. Uni is 8 and Toto is 10. They both act like puppies, esp Toto. Uni is a bit more lazy. Like Haley, Toto will play fetch as long as I can stand to throw the slimy ball. |

I have two that are just about to turn 15. One is showing more signs of aging now than the other but both are in decent shape for the most part. |

So what do you guys consider senior? |

Mine are both 11. One will be 12 in six days and the other will be 12 in February. Where have the years gone. It seems like just yesterday they were puppies. |

I don't know if it's because she had a rough start, but Anna is 8 and there is a definite difference between her and the two boys, who are both 2. She spent 6 years as a breeder in pretty rough conditions so that might be the reason she has "aged" so young. She has periods of playfulness, but in general, she wants to nap. The shelter was only guessing at her age, so she could be older. |

Our Wylie is 11 and although he has many health issues, he really is doing great! |

Vets usually go with 8yrs but for the Yorkie breed maybe 9 or 10 yrs old. |

My Sparky Sparky just turned 15 July 28th. He is on thyroid medication. He hurt his back some how a couple of days ago but has recovered with some pain meds. He used to be a truck puppy, he traveled with my brother around the country in his 18 wheeler. He is retired now. He sleeps a lot , but gets up and plays when he wants to. |
