Not a Full Yorkie?? 4 Attachment(s) I've been getting on all types of Facebook Yorkie pages and introducing my little guy..well there are ALOT of people saying he doesn't look full blooded, my sister didn't pet papers with him but he is able to get Akc papers since his parents are but there's no way of me of getting them now or proving he is full blooded. His parents are supposedly 3 and 5 lbs, find that hard to believe since this little guy is already 4.6 lbs at 12 weeks. Here are a few pics, let me know what yall think cuz this is driving me nuts! And I've tried asking breeder about weight and she's told me well they stop growing at 16 weeks which is a lie! I think I should question her some more about him being full, cuz now I'm seeing things lol |

Ack! I say who cares? I've never had a yorkie that fit the breed standard anyway, so I'm not a real good judge but I say he looks yorkie-ish enough to me to call him one. And yeah he might grow into a teapot, but that's just more yorkie to love. My first little guy did look just like a yorkie except he grew proportionately to a chubby little 11-12 pounder and he was absolutely adorable in appearance and demeanor. When we lost him last October at 16, a little rescue guy landed right in our laps and we decided to adopt him in our Scooby's honor. Ranger was already about two, so we knew what we were getting. A chubby little 12.5 pounder with floppy ears, short stubby legs and a long body. He is probably either a poorly bred yorkie or maybe he's mixed with a little something else. He does have long, beautiful hair and the mischievous yorkie spark. But he needed a home and now he's got one and I call him my porkie yorkie. You will love your pup no matter what he looks like when he grows up. I think he's adorable! Diana |
Looks like a yorkie to me, he may not be the standard 5 to 7 lb but that does not matter. A yorkie is a yorkie whether they weigh 5 lbs or 20 lbs. My passed 4 yorkies weighed 9 to 17lbs, all AKC papers. Some ppl are use to seeing the tiny under 5lbs babies, therefore the question the bigger ones, I had this for 35 + years because my yorkies were bigger, not by any means fat or over weight, they had beautiful sleek bodies. My adopted rescue boy weighs 12lbs. Your baby is a yorkie, that is it. |
Oh trust me my baby boy is 10 months always shaved cut and now 17 lbs! I met both his parents they were teapots but the breeder said papers were too much work now that she's getting older she quit doing them but his parents both had papers. I hear it at least once per pet store visit that he looks like a mix or yorkie poo! I will defend my baby saying he's just not standard show dog for the rest of his life |

I don't why so many strangers look at our little yorkies and then proceed to expertly inform us that '...it doesn't look like a pure yorkie to me.' or '...That's not really a yorkie, is it...?' Uh??? Anyway, I'm certainly no authority, but to me, your little guy looks like a complete, unadulterated yorkie and 100% cute! |
He seems to have all of the yorkie markings to me, he is very cute. No breeder can guarantee the size of a pup big or small. Both of my girls parents were 4-5 pounds and I was told she would be around the same weight. She is almost 11 months and I have a hard time keeping her at 2.5 pounds and my vet says that her frame is not built to hold 5 pounds so she will remain small. Personally I think bigger yorkies are awesome and if I ever get another one Im going for the BIGGEST of the litter lol |
