Groomers friendly? Hi, I was just wondering how anyone's groomer acted toward their dog when you bring them in to them? Do they take them from you like you would take someone's laundry if you know what I mean or do they talk to your baby and pet them or act glad to see them? Thanks for reading this post and for your answers. |

My groomers greet Piper before saying hi to me (perfect, yes?!), then they sympathize with Piper--it is bath time, after all! They always take Piper gently, but firmly, as Piper can be quite wiggly in wanting down; and both Tammy and Caroline always smile at and talk to Piper. Kind, understanding, and totally excellent groomers; I feel blessed to have 'discovered' these gals! |

Thank you so very much for your response to my questions. It is so very good to hear that they love on her the way you say they do. Just Great! |
I love Buddybears groomer. She has worked with him from a little boy. She is the second groomer as the first did nothing but complain about him and said he bit her the first time she saw him (he had never been groomed before) My friends said to go somewhere else! My second groomer asked me what the first one was doing to him that she got bit. Amber talks to us both and has really worked to gain his trust. Today he did excellent @ 11 months old he only objected to her using the dremel on his nails. |
I do all Oscar's grooming but my Airedale & Shih Tzu both go to a groomer and she is wonderful with them . We have been going to her for years . I feel very comfortable leaving my dogs with her .. |
Thank you so very much buddybear for your answer to my question. It was so very kind of you as well to answer me. Sounds like you have a wonderful groomer too. |
Hi Wanda, Thank you for answering my post too. It is so nice to hear you also have a good groomer who is friendly to your two dogs. I have been wondering if there are groomers like you all have and now I know. |
My groomer always talks with my babies when I bring them in. Since I have 3 and they go every week for a bath, my groomer has always come to my car and helped me bring them in and also help's me take them to the car when I pick them up. I have been using the same groomer for 10 yrs. |
How wonderful that you have such a groomer that pays such good attention to your little ones. They should have that as it is such a scary thing to go to a groomer but since you have been using yours for 10 years and she is so special with them they must look forward to their weekly salon trips. Thank you so much for replying to my question. You have all helped me so much with your information. |
Like Wanda, I groom M/Z myself. But the few times I do take them to the groomers, they "handle" both M/Z with care. Coos and baby talk to them. If I saw the groomer (any employee at the groomer) treat M/Z (or any pet there) as you've described, I wouldn't leave them there... |
That is so nice to hear Magnus that your groomer coos and baby talks to your babies like that. And in my opinion that is how they should be with them. I did not intend to say that the groomer/s treated the dog badly but they just do not seem too interested in them,no fussing over them or talking and such just like you were giving them your laundry to do. I was just wondering if that was the way all groomers are and thanks to all of you kind people who have so generously written I now know that there are that kind of sweet, loving, caring groomers out there. Thank you Magnus. |
Our groomer is an older couple. When we bring Bella in, they both love on her and coo over her. Needless to say, she slips them the tongue anytime either of them get in range. They were our first choice when we got Bella and I can't see us going anywhere else at this point. |
That is simply marvelous that Bella is so happy with them and they coo and treat her so special. I love hearing that . Thank you so very much for answering my question. |
I was at petsmart when I first got Bella and the groomer wa talking to another family about a larger dog that they had that had behavior issues. As he was grooming a smaller dog that was already shaking and scared to death the groomer was showin the family how to push his pressure points to get him to calm down and was demonstrating on the smaller dog not paying attention at all to what he was doing to her. He wa being so rough wit her I wanted to yell at him. It was so sad . I vowed never to take Bella there. And he was a manager! |
Good for you! With Piper, more than ever before, I listen to my instincts. If I have any doubt concerning her peace of mind and/or physical well-being, we're 'outa there' without excuses or apologies. |
