Cute story but not cute problem We recently visited my daughter. She originally rescued Penny and gave her to me at Christmas. Penny gave her the cold shoulder at first but warmed up to her finally. The cute story occurred during this visit. We had a family get together for my oldest grandson's birthday. There were a lot of people that Penny didn't know and at first she was fine with it. After a while she wandered off and I heard some very soft barks. I went looking for her and she had gone into her crate and was wanting the door closed...lol. Obviously, she got overwhelmed. It was at my daughter's that the problem started. We sold our camper while there and my husband and I were busy running in and out getting thing s together. Penny started trying to run out the door. When I told her to stay, she growled and snapped at me. I thought it was just a fear of being left but she has gotten worse since we got home. She is the sweetest thing ever otherwise. She lets me brush her teeth, clean and trim her face, pick gunk from her eyes, brush her and bathe her but if we both try to go outside at once, she turns into the Tasmanian Devil. She would always stay when told before. We live in an area of small farm towns and no trainers. I am trying to deal with this with treats. Any other suggestions? Oh, and my daughter only had her a couple of days before she brought her up to me so that's not it.:aimeeyork |
Lol...that's funny that she was demanding to have her crate door closed :p! As far as the rest, I wonder if she is expressing some sort of separation anxiety or something...? |
