Non Dog Toys
 
Buddybear has about two to three dozen toys including chewing antlers, hard and soft items, pull toys etc.

He grabs my crocks, tries to rip the under lining out from under the big chairs and foot stool. He is not always destructive, usually when I'm watching him.

We play on a regular basis, so what is going on????
I've not been taking him to the grassy area due to my allergies and now the heat. It's not a every day occurrence.

Ideas???:animal-pa

They sometimes just want to be mischievous and chew on things they want to have knowing they can't! My Teddy ignored all his toys during his teething stage and chewed on furniture and shoes and the only way to make him quit was to trade like take a shoe and hand him something he can have just constant no also! Good luck!

I would be careful with antlers because they can break teeth. How old is he? When you can't watch him you might need to keep him in a play pen.

He is 11 months old and has had antlers since about 6 or 7 months. I have a new play pen but he is only happy in it when I'm close to it. He bounces in it and almost propels himself out of it and over the top.....scared the bejeepers out of me.

oh my goodness. You might could use a sheet over the top to keep him from jumping out.

My lily is just over a year old and she chews everything. My other two never chewed on anything. I feel your pain. She's chewed up our bed head board and foot board! We call her the beaver! Lol. I even give her CET chews. She still gets into stuff and chews it up. She got my husbands hat and let's just say it's gone. Haha. Destroyed!

Your local pet store should have a spray that will deter chewing on furniture. It is 100% natural and harmless. The kind I use is a bitter apple. It needs to be re-applied every couple of weeks but it has stopped Sasha from chewing.

My Brody is very 'toy centric'...has sooooo many toys, knows each one by name, and c.r.a.v.e.s more. He plays and cuddles with them all the time. Every now and then, he will choose one and 'murder' it...don't know why...LOL...but I would guess it is in his 'DNA' and a 'natural' instinct, the same as the 'death shake' he gives them when playing with them.

Oh, and sorry about your crocs, and stuff...;)
