Car sick my baby gets sick when I take him for a ride. Any tips on how to prevent this? |
How old is your baby? Sometimes short frequent trips and maturity can help acclimate a puppy. A car seat for a view, or a carrier to block the view. Some dogs do better seeing while others do better not seeing their surroundings. Some dogs require medicinal help short term or long term, like Cerenia. Here is my blog with some more tips: Dog Travel and Car Anxiety - Dog Life and Style |
Our Zeus never got sick, but he was very shaky and nervous in the car. We bought a Thundershirt, and he loves it -- sleeps in the car now. Best $40 I ever spent. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for us. He sees that gray shirt and knows he's getting to go somewhere. I think his is car anxiety. |
I would recommend putting them in a booster seat and see if that helps. However, as someone else said some dogs are worse if they can see out the window. In that case putting them in a carrier might be best. |
Depending upon how severe it is / how long it lasts - some dogs may need medication to help them get over car sickness, so that's a viable option too. |
