Random Gagging? My little guy in the past two-ish months has started having random gagging, sometimes with a little throwing up. I'm trying to rule our possibilities of what is causing it. He's on Wellness Puppy by advice I received here, I'm thinking of switching him to Royal Canine adult? He's 10 months and I was thinking of spending a long time mixing to get him on it slowly. I'm sure I'm thinking to much😑 sorry, just looking for advice. |
Not to be gross but how are his stools? Sometimes that can be a sign of parasites so I would probably take a sample in just to rule that out. It only costs me about $20 to do that so it's a relatively inexpensive thing to rule out. |
Doesn't look abnormal, but you could be right! I think I'll take some down to her and see what she finds. I've been mixing his food with a different brand and he seems to be eating a lot better, I'm a happy momma. :-) |
Both mine seem to gag after drinking water. They sometimes even bring up a little liquid. |
One thing I'd be wondering about here is that he could have GERD (reflux / regurgitation). http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...wallowing.html |
Mine sometimes gags and at the end will make a hack noise. One vet told me it could be sensative trachea and another told me acid reflux. |
Momo used to hack, a lot, couple x's a day...he threw up a huge hair ball! He doesn't cough & hack anymore. Vet used to prescribe pepcid. He's 7, so this hairball took years to develop I think...he licks everything, me, the floor, his paws...his nickname is Momo Roomba. But he hardly ever threw up, so I'm thinking it's something else maybe. Hope you find the cause. |
mimimomo did your dog sound like the dog in the video? Mine does that a couple times a day for the last year. He is 1. Thanks https://youtu.be/lN1L1pXdfZM |

Once he threw up the huge hairball, he stopped making those noises. He used to play w/rubber balls all the time. I stopped giving it to him bc it would get a lot of hair & dust on it. I clean my floors, obsessively. |
