7 months ears are now erect! My male Rocky ears were erect from day 1. Daisy on the other hand is built like a little doll face bear cub. Her ears have always been floppy and cute but even so I always hoped they would stand up like Rocky's do. For all of you who think it's too late please take a look at this website: http://members.cox.net/jrogan/ears.html I followed the steps but did this for 9 days instead. I didn't use gauze but scotch tape with white masking tape over. Last night when I took the tape off there was hardly any hairs stuck due to scotch tape being the the first layer. It's so nice to see Daisy with erect ears which she has never had before. Best of luck, |
Tried to look at the site but it locked up my computer then kicked me off line. :( |
Oh I hate it when that happens. I just tried it and it connected OK. If anyone has problems connecting you can try: http://members.cox.net/jrogan Then page down twice and click on the link that says "Training Ears to Stand". |
Thats great that you were able to get them up when she was that old. You definitely should be answering all the posts we get on floppy ears. |
I really thought there would be no chance of her ears standing up. Her ears are very thick, along with her coat. To me this way of taping is much easier then the conventional way that we see posted. I call it the soft taco look. ;-) |
I have a 12 week old male yorkie and his ears aren't standing yet either. I have never heard of shaving the ears. My 7 year old yorkies ears stood up early on their own. I checked out the website and I'm still no so sure about the shaving. She kind of lost me somewhere. |
Just use trimmers on the lowest level to remove as much of the hair as possible. This makes removing the tape much easier and hair from getting stuck to the tape. |
