Can Someone Please Let Me Know Why it's so hard to get a good picture of our yorkies? It seems like they're always on the go and right when I think I've gotten a good pic my camera is a second late. They've turned their faces and it's a blur or have run off somewhere. Is anyone able to get their furbutts to sit still? If so, what's your trick? |
:D Will watch this thread for answers because my boys are terrible models. What really gets me are the people who have 3 - 5 Yorkies who will all line up and pose perfectly looking over their shoulders, tilting their heads. :D |
i just put my camera on burst mode and take a hundred and pick the ten out that look good! |
Sometimes I take a video and screenshot it. |

I always do pictures on bath day when Callie seems to be tired. She has always been good though and my biggest problem is her falling asleep when I'm trying to do them lol. Sammy well that's a different story but good special treats help. |
I get a whole lot of pictures of where they just were a second ago. :/ My Kelpies do that to me, too. |
Just like ShowGirlLola said, I video them and then take a screen capture from the video. Works great and I don't miss a good shot because everything is captured on video. |
Batteries You have to remove their batteries;) & of course replace them as soon as you get that picture, lol |

I take 20-50 pictures to get one good one. Then delete all the bad ones. Piccolo thinks it is fun and a game, so she is cooperative. My other two are very difficult. I do have better luck putting them on a chair or a table. Plus setting everything up ahead of time including checking the background. Plus lots of green beans. |
Ok, so where exactly are their batteries? :) |
I have trained Teddy to sit, lay down and stay and he does this beautifully with the camera (there are some examples in my albums). His behavior is reinforced with treats and praise, of course! He was also taught SEE ME which I use with a click of my fingers. In this way, he will focus on my hand and the click so I can position his eyes and face in the desired photo angle. It's worked a 'treat'! Took a few months of practice, but worth it in the end, since I now have a POSER for a puppy :p |
My little stinker turns her head as soon as you point the camera at her. I do not even use a flash but she just knows it is camera time. It takes alot of patience and begging to get that special picture of her. Susan |
I'm the one who usually misses the good shots, by the time I get my phone or camera, turn it on…the good shot is gone!! lol. For every one picture I get thats not a blur there are probably 50 other ones. I have just started to take videos a lot more, so I can take shots off them, but I'm usually over it by then, lol:) So I have lots of videos just can't seem to figure out how to post them. Again, I start trying to figure it out, and then the mood passes. lol. Harry is so easy to film. He just sits or lays down quite regally and takes a great photo. Sunni?, ah..Sunni!! |
I wait until Zoey is a little tired (after she has been running, jumping and playing) then sit her down and snap, snap, snap !!!! |
