Anyone out there have any pictures of a full grown 3-4 pound Yorkie? I was wondering if any of you have pictures of a full grown Yorkie that weighs between 3-4 pounds. Thanks! |
I was wondering if they are still small enough to fit in a purse. What is the length of a full grown 3-4 pound Yorkie? |
1 Attachment(s) Here is a picture of my friends 3 pound 13 year old yorkie. I guess the purse question depends on how big your purses are.... |
size How much does your puppy weight now and how old is it? |
He is a few days over 8 weeks old and weighs 1 pound. |

They are soooo cute! |
that is a very cute picture |
i remember the asking the same question about how big toby will look when he was full grown (he exceded my expectations) but let me point out a little hint to those that are sharing pictures to campare sizes, because i was a little frustrated when i asked....... The pictures dont really help unless they are the dogs are being held by a person... or next to something that can help gage exactly HOW big they are.... i know this is why people take pictures of puppies next to a coke can, adn this really does help in knowing what size they are |
You are so right, it is very hard to tell unless there is something to compare to. Toby's mom how big did the breeder tell you she expected him to be? The puppy we are looking at is a little over 8 weeks and weighs 1 pound. |
Well, the rule of thumb is to triple his weight at 8 weeks,or double his weight at 12 weeks..which means your baby would weigh about 3 to 4 lbs full grown. This doesnt always work so dont panic if your baby goes WAY over the mark..lol.When I got Jess at 8 weeks, she weighed in at 2lbs,which means she should have been 6lbs full grown, but at 10 months old,she weighs almost 9lbs! My vet thinks she will get up to at least 10lbīs before she stops growing,as you can see,the rule of thumb doesnt always work,so its best not to take it literally. I bought Jessies carrier taking in mind the rule of thumb,It holds up to 6lbs and obviously she doesnt fit in it now.The only way to really know the adult weight of a yorkie is to wait and see;) |

Are you sure your yorkie will only be getting that large? If so, there are some adorable tint bags at trixieandpeanut.com that will hold dogs 10 pounds or less.... and most of them are airline approved as well -- in case you fly like I tend to do. :D Good luck! |
