Biewer ears
 
When do their ears usually go up? I am getting
A Biewer puppy and she is 7 weeks old...are her
ears suppose to be up by now? I am going to bring
her home in 2 weeks...

Is there anyway the breeder could keep her until 12 weeks so she can learn everything she needs to from her mom.

I don't have a Biewer, but there are some members here who own/breed them. I thought they would be like yorkies and be up by 7 weeks, but go up and down at times due to teething.You could always ask your breeder to tape them. Do you have any pics of your puppy you'd be willing to share?

I am actually getting her at 10 weeks...my other puppy I am getting at
8 weeks...both are good Breeders...I know most people say that 12 weeks
Is better for the puppy...what more can you tell me re; this? Thank you!

Reputable a breeders know that it's best for a puppy to stay with there mom until 12 weeks. The problem is when a breeder skips a really important step like letting the pups go home before 12 weeks they skip other steps and that can mean you could have some seriously genetic issues pop up later on in life even if the parents seem healthy and the pup seems healthy issues can run in the lines and your pup can get them. It's also supporting and keeping a bad breeder who is not breeding to better the breed in business which can be devastating for these loved breeds.

Thank you for the info...I agree that longer is better with the Mom
But a Breeder should know this too...I really like all your Dog Accessories reviews...really great stuff there...I'm going to think about 10 vs 12...

Reputable breeders do. Most reputable breeders of yorkies are part of the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America which one of there things is not to take the puppies from the moms until 12 weeks or later. Puppies taken before 12 weeks also have socialization problems and biting problems. I have also read several articles about potty training issues being related to that. It is also a huge thing that separates the good breeders from the bad. A lot of breeders who let the pups go before 12 weeks well say lots of stuff to make you think it's ok but in the end it comes out to them not making as much money and it being more work for them.

I am getting my puppy in 2 weeks...she will be 12 weeks old....I know that my little girl has her ears up already, but the other two will be taped up....not sure how they do it, but that's what the breeder told me....
I guess there is a fb group you can join as well....I am going to join it...and it is strictly Beiwers

If you want the ears up, I would most definitely be emailing your breeder and asking about them, bc you don't want to wait to get the ears to stand. If you wait too long, it can be very difficult to get them to stand...

I have a parti not a biewer but her ears didn't go up completely until now and she's almost five months.

14 weeks today and Finsters ears are still floppy.. They go up if the wind blows.. Hehe otherwise not. We aren't sure what breed the father is so no telling what they will do.. He looks all yorkie but only God knows.. The lady my friend got the unknown pregnant mother from wont answer the phone messages.. I think hes cute the way he is..
