Pet expo question? I'm thinking about going to the pet expo in Dallas TX this year in May.( I have never been to a pet expo before) Has anyone ever been to any of them in the area in the past? What can I expect? Thanks, Megan |
Ours in Toronto allowed dogs and pets this year. It was good but the lineup was almost a mile long to get in. We took Bella she did really good I took her stroller . We would have liked more venders with thing like clothes toys and all the fun stuff I like to buy. I thought BB belt would be there because the make them in Toronto but not a bb belt to be found. I wonder it the vender space price was high. It was 18 dollers to get in to ours. I live in Canada so I am sure things might be much different for you |
If they allow pets, I would def bring my yorkie in a stroller, bag or sling since others will be bringing their pets, and there will be large dogs. Our pet expo even allows birds and snakes, so a stroller etc would make your yorkie feel more secure and safe. Also the line to get in for people with pets was very long. People without pets walk right in. This is bc you have to bring a waiver or shot records to bring in your pet. Can't comment on vendors bc every show is different. |

I would never let a small dog walk around a pet expo it's to risky tge dog can get stepped on and seriously hurt. Even at 17 pounds Callie is always in her stroller never walking on the ground. |
We bought our tickets before the Pet Expo and avoided the line. Also you will need to have a waiver and shot record form filled out. We also took a stroller because there are a lot of other dogs and little kids walking around. I was disappointed on the vendors there, it was mostly local businesses at the one I went to (St. Louis). I was glad I went one time but won't go back. I know each expo is different. |

Vendor booth space was fairly pricey. I saw lots of toys, but no buddy belts, but very good collars and leads Smoochy Poochy was there, but alas not the woman who does very very beautifull hand crafted crystal on leather collars... A new vendor with after bath or swimming coat towels that wrap around the dog, a new vendor with hot/cold protective outer gear. When I was there on Saturday - no strollers that I saw. And yes big dogs for sure walking through, but some Yorkies and Maltese that I saw on lead and leashed in close to their owner. I do not think it is axiomatic that you should take your Yorkie in a stroller to these events. Of course you can and no problem if you do. But if you are used to busy spaces with your Yorkie on lead, you should do okay there. And if you think it is too much then you leave, simple really. We elected not to take any dogs to the Toronto show as we wanted to be free to look around, watch the performance events, and shop,, without worrying about a very busy environment. |

I've never been to the pet expo in Dallas but I've been going to the one in San Antonio for the past 3 years, sadly they cancelled it this year. It was always free so I didn't know that you had to buy tickets for the other ones in other cities. They also allowed dogs as long as they were vaccinated and you brought proof. There are a lot of vendors of different prices, and a lot of them have free samples. There was also never a line to go in, so no waiting in line. I wonder if Austin has a pet expo, I bet they are fun! |

I went to the one in nj last year, it was awful. Extremely crowded, unruly dogs, pee everywhere, BLASTING music, and very few vendors. A lot of the booths were rescues, doggy day cares, and some food companies. I didn't want to buy anything. The music was truly awful, we couldn't do half of it because the noise was upsetting Lola and me. Also IMO a stroller is a bad idea unless zipped closed, it was too crowded and it's head level with many big dogs. One of the employees nearly knocked me over because I accidentally got too close to the food area with Lola, instead of asking me to move she pushed me. Never again |

There is one here in Orange County this coming weekend and my daughter and I are going. I've been to a Reptile Expos and loved them. I'm hoping this one is as fun😀 |

On Fri there were lots of strollers and small dogs and big dogs two. Bella met alot of them only one little one was not so nice. One vender had some nice cloths for good prices and I bought Bella two nice little dresses. Another vender wanted way to much for there cloths. On the way in some people gave us there internet tickets so we got in free score:) |
