Yorkie treats Does anyone know of complete natural treats? Like sweet potato treats or other vegetable or fruit treats that do not contain all the processing yuck? My pup came to me having Cheerios for good behavior. But after 3 days he doesn't seem interested. I would love to reward him other than just praise and kisses. |
You can always make your own. I bought a $40 dehydrator and make various fruits/veggies/jerky treats for the pups. |
Oh those dehydrators do come in handy a lot, you can also bake some doggie cookies or whatnot as well :D I made some chicken liver treats once and my dogs went nuts over them. |
You could get natural treats from the pet store. Otherwise, I do like Honest Kitchen Beams, as they're single ingredient. |

The PUREBITES freeze dried treats are great, and only have one ingredient. I buy the Liver ones, but there are also others, including veggie, I think. |
Something called Pet Munchies in the UK at independent pet stores - no artificial additives, colours, flavours or preservatives and wheat soya and gluten free Liver and chicken, training treats and my little fuss pot loves them - I use them as rewards and sometimes as an appetiser to encourage her to eat. |
Merricks makes a really good lamb lung treat, single ingredient. Amazon My Scottie loves it. And unlike liver, lung can be given more frequently as a treat. Liver should only be given once a week or your pup may get diarrhea because it's too heavy in nutrients - think of it like a weekly vitamin (unless you have a dog with an iron stomach :p). You can also make your own sweet potato treats, slice them up and bake at 200 degrees for an hour or so. |
