Help - Not Yorkie Related Hi everyone, I experience awful migraines. I am on a bad cycle where I have them everyday now for a month with nauseau. Anyone experience this in their lifetime and if so what did you take to break the cycle. I use to get them like once a month but this cycle is everyday for over a month now!! Going to the dr but they can not see me for a month. |
I used to never get them, a few a year now. They are pretty debilitating, I couldn't even relate before experiencing them myself. Mine have triggers, excessive exposure to bright sunlight(my eyes), skipping copious amounts of coffee daily, missing multiple meals, staying awake much too long(24 hrs +). I'd only be guessing in your case and circumstances and that wouldn't help. Migraines daily for a month just won't do, with mine, the pain is too intense. I'd have to get medical attention much sooner for mine if it was every day. |
Migraines Hello I am so sorry that you are going through these continuos migraines. I am fortunate not to suffer these but feel for you and pray they leave you very soon. I don't understand why a doc won't see you NOW, this is something that needs attention. If this doc can't see you, could you try another, or the ER, or Urgent care?? Please do not suffer when a doc might be able to help you. Good luck and feel better soon. |
For the most part, I "out grew" mine, but interestingly enough, I've had a low grade, constant headache for the last 36 hrs and nothing is working insofar as getting rid of it...My sincere sympathy and sincere wishes for feeling good soon. By the way, years back I took very low dose of Imitrex to alleviate migraines--it was the only thing that ever worked for me. |
I would hit urgent care or emergency if you can. Over the years I have suffered with horrible migraines. I have figured out what helps before it becomes out of control...at least it works for me but it sounds like you have one that is beyond that. What usually helps me keep it manageable is a cup of coffee, 600 mg ibuprophen and then 2 extra strength Tylenol. I will then take Tylenol 4 hours later and ibuprophen again 6 hours later. Another cup of coffee is usually in there somewhere. However, my advice is to go to urgent care or emergency since this is a change in your migraine pattern. When there is a change like this, you shouldn't wait a month to be seen. |
I have a few friends that have debilitating migraines, that grind their life to a halt, while they spend days in a dark room. I rarely suffer from headaches, but the couple of times a year I do, they are intense! Two of my migrane friends swear by taking a couple of ibuprofen, and sitting with an ice pack on the back of your neck, and putting your feet in hot water, as hot as you can stand it. I feel rediculous doing it, but it really helps. Another thing they say is to get your eyes checked, especially if you are a glasses/contact lense wearer already. Minor changes in seeing ability, and the resulting eye strain, can trigger migraines. My one co-worker swears that she can tell her her vision changes even slightly, as it sets her migraines off. Her insurance only pays for new glasses every other year, so the opposite year, she pays to get updated lenses put in her current frames. I can't believe the dr is making you wait a month. That is rediculous! |
