How can people do it - walk away from those eyes, in whatever body they are in? How can people discard them, leave them behind? Wish every dog owner who ever thought all of those things the day he brought his new dog home stuck with them to the end. |

Getting a dog to me is like the wedding vow "For better or worse, in sickness and health, till death do us part" When my Matese started to loose her vision and could no longer sleep on my bed because she could not see well enough to jump off the bed, I slept in my home office where I have a futon, my futon has a thick mattress, but it didn't matter, it was low, she could sleep with me and was able to get off when she wanted, the next year she became almost totally blind, no more futon, so I got out my camping blow up mattress, set that up, she would lay on the floor next to me, so we were still together.............. I moved from my home town, NY to Pa. because they were selling the house where I was renting for 22 years, I couldn't find an apartment in the area I wanted to live in because no one allowed dogs. I was not going to get rid of my babies, so I bought a house in Pa. commuted to NY every day to my NY job, just to be able to keep my babies and never fear going through what I did in NY. It sickens me to hear reasons why ppl have to get rid of their pets, but then again, they cannot be true animal lovers. |

Thanks for sharing that...it's amazing and so true and so good to be reminded.. Not that I need reminded of Teddy as he sits on my face trying to read what I type to make sure he agrees with it before I hit the submit button... |
We know our dogs feel that way about us. If only all people were as loyal. |
