If you had to guess - IF you had to guess how big my little Reese would get what would YOU guess ? At 3 months old she is 1 lb. 6 oz. In your Yorkie experience how big do you think she will get ? When do they stop growing ? I am a little concerned over how little she is........I know it may a premature concern, but will I ever be able to " hug" my Reese without squishing her ? |
I bet she will stay small about 3 lbs. |
A good Guess would be close to 3lbs. That is if you follow the growth chart. Most pups reach adult size by 8mths, then fill in up to a year. |
there is a Sticky Thread up top in General topic. it has a growth chart that should help you |
Hard to tell. If she is chubby right now, and just very tiny she will probably be around 3 lbs. If she is underweight she may be bigger as she eats better and grows more robust :D |
Cali was 1lb when I got her at 9 weeks, I have charted her growth and at 3 months she was 1.6lbs and at 4 months she was 2.20lbs and at 5 months she was 3 lbs. Now at 29 weeks she is 3.12 lbs and her growth seems to have really slowed down. She has a very tiny bone structure but I am hoping to get her up to 4 -4.5 lbs if I can get her eating better. She is too tiny right now. Sounds like Reese is Cali's size. |
Patti- The growth of Cali has been exact ( to the oz. ) of Reese so far ! What do you feed her ? I am going to switch Reese from Science Diet to something else....maybe Innova ? I want her to gain weight too. Thanks for letting me know :) |
Some of your gals may stay thin until puberty. After having that first season some will fill in and gain weight. Mother natures way of changing them from a puppy to a adult. |
Miko was under 2 lbs when he was 3 months old (he was sick when we got him though) and he's a whopping 9 lbs now, so I'm not sure what to tell you. hehe. He definitely did not follow the growth chart, but he's not overweight at ALL :) He's perfect weight for his frame. |
