Why would? Why would someone try to log into my YT account? I was just notified by YT that someone tried to break into my YT account. I don't understand what someone would gain from accessing my account. Any thoughts? Email below: Someone has tried to log into your account on YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes. The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 117.169.1.55 |
Perhaps a newer member has a screen name similar to yours and mistyped it a few times, along with their password, which is why you were advised? At a guess? |
That IP address is in Farmington MI |
I cannot think of a single reason why someone would want to hack into a YT account. What is there to be gained? The "accidental" theory seems the most plausible. |
I looked up the IP address early this morning, and it showed me China. Still don't know why. Weird! |
yea I must have typed something wrong...it is china...crazy |
I think someone just had a similar user name and was just trying to log in using the wrong name. |
You'd be surprised at what kind of people would try to hack an account. There's the ones that would spam advertisements, do random mischief and so on. I've seen sites that I've visited that had a hacker go in and post random horrible stuff or set up a virus, and other cases they deleted the person's website :( There's no particular reason, they'll just pick random people sometimes. |
lol, commenting again here as I ironically had gotten the same thing happen to me just the other day, again from some user in china according to IP look-up IP: 223.86.135.119 |
