eating grass I am sure this has been asked on here before but i am gonna ask again why is my yorkie eating grass? |
There can be different reasons some just like grass and some will do it when they have an upset stomach to make themselves throw up. |
oh ok he doesnt do it all the time just every now and then he just like to dig and pull the roots up on san augustine grass |
mine eats grass and wood..i been using pepper and tobasco sauce to keep him and her at bay as for now..im wish they would stop doing the wood though bc im scared its gonna cause damage in their intestines..i know the grass is normal to make them throw up but the wood really concerns me |
I had a dog that just seemed to like to eat grass. She would just tear it off and eat it when we went outside, she didn't throw up and I really think she just like it. I tried to limit how much she ate of it, but it never seemed to affect her. |

Like lovetodream wrote, some eat grass to throw up. In all the dogs I have had, when ever they ate grass, they threw up. Is it good for them IDK. When I see my dog eating grass I stop them. Should I, again IDK, but I do. |
Piper often nibbles away at grass, but nothing like my little black Echo-cat. Echo would go out in yard and graze like a little cow; I mean just stroll and chomp...she was a love. I have felt cats rubbing their faces against mine and touching my cheek with claws carefully sheathed. These things, to me, are expressions of love. James Herriot |

I've had dogs that ate grass, but most of the time it wasn't to make themselves vomit (though on a rare occasion they have). Aside from the "flavor" I think it's also for fiber. My mother would feed our dogs bits of cabbage or lettuce (stems and greens) to curb their "cravings". Seems to work. Otherwise they do have edible "pet" grass. Tried it once, and that did pretty decent too. |
Sammy eats grass and dosent throw up but when he went to poo it out some was still long and got stuck and had to be gently pulled so that is something also to keep in mind. |

This! Tyson loves to eat grass. In the last year, I've realized he loves cabbage and really crunchy lettuce. He actually begs for it when I'm chopping cabbage/lettuce. I guess he thinks he needs more fiber in his diet :D |
