Hard to believe.... ... my boys will be 10 years old this September 1! I remember so clearly the day I went to go pick a boy from the liter at the breeders. She handed me both the boys who were both available and they were 2 tiny 2lb warm fluff balls! She put one in each palm and told me about them, they had their own unique personalities. Then she told me to pick the one I wanted. There was NO WAY I was picking one of those babies and leaving the other one, so I made the decision to get both. One of the BEST decisions I've ever made! My beautiful big boy Fletcher, with his soulful eyes, his attentive and curious nature, his ability to make us laugh, his warm snuggly body and how he loves to give kisses and tail wags to EVERYONE he meets! My gentle Dexter, small in size, big in love. Brave boy, not afraid of anything, complete lap dog and so in love with his momma, soft downy coat and always within inches of me. My little food hound (where he puts it I'll never know). So different, yet I love them both equally fiercely. I can't believe 10 years has almost passed. I pray that we have another 10 years together, but I know that's not likely. So I pray that for the time we do have left together, my boys always feel my love, my gentle hand, they never feel pain or suffer, I pray they stay healthy, and I vow to do my best to keep them that way. |
Max will be 2 in May and Sasha (his sister) just turned 1 in January. Even though we have not had them the length a lot of people have had their dogs I already dread the day they won't be there. They are the sunshine of my life. I couldn't agree with you more - do everything we can to keep them happy and healthy and revel in the never ending love they have to give us. |
I realize I am coming a little late to the party. I was literally just handed a 9 year old Yorkie. He was in need of a home and I had a home to share. In the 6 weeks I have had him, we have bonded something fierce. I already dread the day he won't be here anymore. He thinks he is 5, so I figure I should be able to count on at least 5 years with him, but I am hoping for 7+. We are getting a Yorkie mix puppy later this spring (they should be born in about a week). It is my daughters puppy though and should be ready to bring home just as school is letting out for the summer. I am sure we will have that puppy a very long time. My Teek is healthy and so I am just going to enjoy every day/month/year that I get to spend in his life. :aimeeyork |
Crazy how fast time goes, isn't it? My Toby will be 10 this month and my Haley will be 14 in May! I got Toby at around 4 months old and Haley at 9 weeks. I lost my 15 year old boy, Bear, in September and I dread the thought of having to go through that again. I tell Haley she has to stick around for at least another 5 or 6 years. |
Awwww, such a sweet loving post! |
