Boarding my lil guy for the first time. Can anyone give me ideas of what to leave with him? I'm bringing his food. Should I bring his cookies too? I'm taking his crate he sleeps in at night. Favorite toys. Anything else? Thanks!! |

How may days will you be leaving him there? When we boarded Bella at the vet for two days, we paid extra for her to have a private room, and also paid extra for a 15 minute play session with a vet student. And I called the vet and asked how she was doing. I was feeling rampant paranoia, but she did great. Here is my thread about Bella's boarding: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-days-yay.html |
Magnus/Zoey each have their own blankets with their bed so I just take their blankets in with food, snacks and instruct the daycare when to give it to them. The daycare also has a live webcam that I can check anytime from 7 am - 12 pm, 2 pm - 9 pm. One thing I do when I get them back home is change their blankets or wash them before giving it back to them and give them a quick bath. This is only b/c they've contracted kennel cough once and the only source they could've gotten it from was at the daycare. After that, I got paranoid. LOL |
10 long days sigh |
I recently learned about dogvacay.com - its a site where you can find people who will watch your pup in their home. You can interview them, and have a meet and greet - I even asked if maggie could sleep in their bed with them and their other dog! LOL! Anyways, you pay online and to me this was a great alternative to the kennel. Good luck, I am sure she will do great! |
Go check out the facility first. See is they have a fridge and ask them if they can give him the food at the times you want, and the treats. Label with his name. Ask if they have a washer to wash his blanket. (take a couple extra blankets) Tell them not to was the T-shirt though. See if they have a room with the camera that you can watch her every minute 24 7 on your phone. Also, have your family and friends take turns going to see him. This will be so much better for him..........and you. ;) |
Sorry to call him a her once. I'm just so use to saying "her" since I only have three females and no males.:p |
