Doggy Daycare Since I rescued Moxie, someone has always been home with her. However, my roommate is taking his exams tomorrow and will start working at 9-5 Mon-Fri. I don't work regular hours, but there are frequently 4-5 hr periods throughout the week when I will be away. Once in a while, I'm fine with jst crating her, but I want her to be stimulated and engaged and enjoy her little doggy self. Have any of you tried doggy day care? I would choose one that separated dogs by size and temperament and get her kennel cough vaccine (and all the dogs there are vaccinated, neutered, and spayed), and had great reviews, so don't worry about the safety aspect. But what are your thoughts and experiences with doggy day care? Pros and cons? I love the idea of her socializing and when I can't take her to the dog park and have to be out! |

I haven't ever done doggy daycare(just boarded) but is there anyway possible they/you can have access to a live feed so that you will be able to watch what your pup is doing? |

Such a great question! I will ask! |

Most doggie daycares do separate the large from the small from my experience. Some I tried ONLY let them out at certain times for play and crated the other times, which I didn't like. One place I tried let the small dogs run free in certain area while the large dogs were in another area away from the small ones. |

I think it's a great idea for working doggy mommies and daddies if your dog is social and it's a great place. |

Sounds a great idea! My Aunt used to be leaving her dog for around 5 hours everyday, she had a dog walker (a well researched/trusted one) who came and picked the dog up. He was in the crate for 2 hours then away with dog walker for 1 hour 30mins and back in crate for 1 hour before she came home. It worked really well and was cheaper than the day care. |

I have never brought him to doggie daycare. I have an ex pen for Galen. He is safe and he has the freedom to walk around. You can get a cam to set up in your house and either watch on the phone or computer |

I take Gizmo to doggie day camp about once a month and he loves it. They have separate rooms for small and big dogs. They always have at least two people with them at all times. When I pick him up he's so tired, he immediately falls asleep in the car. |
