Help I joined last year when I got my little yorkie, I am hopeless with this high tec stuff and had not been able to find thread.. understand tags..not a clue on trackback...in fact I dont even know where I am sending this!!!if anywhere!!! The thing is I have been on holiday first time I have left my little fellow, and have come back to him holding is back right leg up when he is running not all the time, and he puts it down and walks fine, he is in no pain and I have checked for grit or a stone but nothing, he doesnt whelp of anything when I lift it and check, and he seems fine, but like I say every know and then he runs with it up, usually when he has cocked it up for a wee!! I dont know if I will get any answers as I dont know where to go to find them!!!:mad: |
I hope you find your answers. In my experience, yorkies hide pain very well. Also, it could be hips or knees in pain. My female pup, Rin, has luxating patella (knee) and if her knee cap slips out of place then she will definitely favor that leg at random moments. I say have your vet check her out. |
You should get an email from Yorkie Talk on responses to your question. Now as you are new to YT with only 2 posts, you replies sometimes will get delayed until a moderator reads them. I am not sure if this happens for the first 5 or even 10 posts. When you get a reply and email from YorkieTalk, it will say click here to go to your thread. |
Thanks for your help i guess i will just keep my eyes on him for a couple of days then maybe the vet |
If he is favoring his leg, yes, take him to the vet. |
Sounds like he could have a luxating patella. I would have a vet look at him to rule out any other injuries, such as a sprain . Our little guy has two luxating patellas on both of his back knees. Sometimes if he overdoes it, I will catching him skipping or picking one of his back legs up. Good luck and I hope you find a resolution to your problem soon. Quote:
